Motivra is committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used when you use our mobile application.
We comply with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Union.
By using Motivra, you agree to the practices described in this document.
We may collect the following data:
We do not collect your geographic location, your contacts, or access to your microphone. The app sends two types of notifications: local notifications, scheduled on your device (daily reminders, habits), and remote notifications when other users interact with your content (new like, new follower), delivered through the Expo Push service. We do not collect or store your payment information: it is processed directly by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), depending on your device.
Public content: if you publish quotes in the community space, they are visible to all users, together with your display name. Your public profile shows your name, your photo, your contributions, the likes you have received, your follower count, and your position in the contributor ranking. The likes you give and the contributors you follow are also public information.
Notification identifier: if you allow notifications, a token specific to your device is stored in your account so that remote notifications can be sent to you. It is removed when you sign out or delete your account.
Your data is used exclusively to:
We do not use your data for advertising or commercial profiling.
We use Firebase (Google Cloud Platform), provided by Google LLC, for authentication and database. Firebase applies industry-standard security measures: data encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
Your preferences are also saved locally on your device to enable offline use.
If you add the Motivra widget to your home screen, the quote of the day and your Premium status are shared between the app and the widget in a storage space specific to your device. This information does not leave your device.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent or share it with third parties for commercial purposes.
We use the following technical service providers:
Remote notifications are routed through the Expo Push service (Expo); final delivery is handled by Apple or Google depending on your device.
These providers act as data processors and are contractually required to protect your data in accordance with applicable law.
Your data is retained as long as your account is active.
If you delete your account from within the app (Settings → Delete Account), all your personal data will be removed from our servers within 30 days. Data cached locally on your device is deleted immediately.

Motivra is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a minor has provided us with data without parental consent, please contact us so we can delete it.
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy. For significant changes, we will notify you directly within the app. The last updated date is shown at the top of this document.
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
